
Don joined Fanfare in 2005, a talented and versatile musician. He was born in Consett, County Durham in 1948.
He studied music at the Huddersfield music College and then the Guildhall & Bretton Hall. He has been a school teacher for most of his life,mainly in the York area.
Don's services are always in great demand as accompanist,arranger,conductor and composer.
He has been Musical Director for the New Earswick Musical Society since 1990, having previously been with the York Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society for eight years.
He has been Musical Director for the Rowntree Players pantomimes and the popular "Music Night" productions at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, he also directs "The Tuesday Singers" and the "Poppleton Singers".
Don has also guided Fanfare as a Pit Orchestra for the much acclaimed musical "Mary Poppins" which was a huge success.
