
Kevin started to play the cornet at the age of seven,becoming the Principal Cornet his local band by the age of twelve. He was taught to play by his Father,who also taught his brother who incidentally went on to play for the Band of the Coldstream Guards,Yorkshire Imperial Metals Band and assistant principal with the Black Dyke Mills Band.
Kevin left his local band to become principal cornet with the Leeds City Band, he later became repiano cornet with the Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band,who at the time were the British Open Champions.
He has played with many of Yorkshire`s leading bands and brass ensembles, but now concentrates most of his musical talents playing for Fanfare Brass.
During his playing career,Kevin has made several Radio and Television appearances,including Opportunity Knocks and more recently Emmerdale.
Apart from playing the cornet,he also specialises by playing the Post Horn with Fanfare, to great critical acclaim,both in this country and abroad during Fanfare`s many international tours. Kevin hopes to continue playing for Fanfare for many years to come, bringing pleasure to the people where ever they perform.
